2019 HIS Interstate Group Inspection in Omaha, NE on August 26-28, 2019

You are invited to attend the 2019 HIS Interstate Group Inspection in Omaha, NE on August 26-28, 2019. This year’s inspection will be held at Lanoha Nurseries and Urban Roots Nursery in Omaha, and Urban Root’s tree farm, just a short drive west of Omaha.

Monday the 26th will be a travel day. Tuesday the 27th will consist of a tour of Lanoha Nurseries followed by group inspection time and discussion. In the afternoon, there will be several presentations. Kevin Holdorf (Pesticide Inspector from Nebraska Department of Agriculture) will be speaking about pesticide damage on plants. Kyle Broderick (Plant Pathologist from the University of Nebraska- Lincoln) will be speaking on Phytophthora and Fusarium root rots. David Nielsen (State Survey Coordinator from Nebraska Department of Agriculture) will also be speaking about his work with Japanese beetle biocontrol release and tick survey. Susan Ehlenbeck (Plant Protection Specialist from Missouri Department of Agriculture) will then lead us in a discussion of practical pest management procedures followed by an initial discussion meeting with a nursery looking to become SANC certified. Wednesday the 28th will be a group inspection at Urban Roots Nursery sites in the morning. Please see the agenda for more detailed information.
